IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2026 THE ITALIAN RECORDED MARKET GREW BY 7.3%

The recorded music market in Italy continues to grow, closing the first half of 2026 with a positive trend of 7.3%, equal to a total turnover of approximately €225 million.

In a scenario where digital currently represents 80% of the market, streaming is inevitably leading the way – with more than 52 billion streams in the first six months of the year, totaling €179 million (+7% compared to 2025). It’s the subscription segment to expand the most, with a growth of 9.45%, while ad-supported audio recorded a slight decline of 1.31%. Ad-supported video streaming, on the other hand, is holding up well, recording a +2.73%.

The physical sector is growing the most, with a 12% impact, mainly driven by the explosion of vinyl (+18.50%) that has now become a mass phenomenon, while the CD remains stable, growing by 1.29%, reaching a turnover of approximately 11 million euros.
