Italian music is heading to the heart of the U.S. audiovisual industry with Hit Week’s first Sync Mission, a professional programme designed to turn the internationalisation of Italian repertoire into meaningful opportunities for relationships and business.

Part of the 2026 edition of Hit Week – the long-established festival celebrating Italian music around the world, which this year marks its twentieth anniversary – the mission, organised by Italian body FIMI – Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana, with the support of ITA – Italian Trade Agency, will bring a delegation of Sync Managers from leading Italian record companies to Los Angeles from October 5 to 7, placing them in direct contact with prominent U.S. music supervisors and executives across film, television, advertising and gaming.

Three days conceived as a genuine business development journey, featuring focused sessions and one-to-one meetings with U.S. music supervisors, visits to some of Hollywood’s leading studios and gaming companies, networking opportunities with the production music industry, and a panel exploring the distinctive features of the Italian market – all designed to leave a tangible mark on commercial relationships between the two markets.

Hit Week 2026 - Sync IT

October 5th | Direct access to the decision-makers of the international sync market

The mission kicks off at the historic EastWest Studios in Hollywood, with four thematic sessions dedicated to Television, Film, Advertising & Brand and Trailers. Each session will combine collective roundtables with dedicated one-to-one “speed dating” meetings, giving Italian delegates the opportunity to present their catalogues directly to key industry professionals.

The Television panel will feature music supervisors with experience across productions for Netflix, HBO Max and leading international networks and platforms, while the Film session will bring together professionals with credits on major productions and franchises. The Advertising & Brand session will feature professionals behind campaigns for some of the world’s most recognisable brands, while the day will conclude with a dedicated session on music for trailers – one of the most dynamic segments of the sync market – featuring the music executives of leading film marketing agencies.

A direct dialogue with the professionals who select, supervise and license music for some of the most prominent audiovisual content in the U.S. market, with the aim of creating new connections between Italian repertoire and international demand for music for visual media.

October 6th | From publishers to the global entertainment industry

The second day opens at the renowned Production Music Conference, the leading international gathering for the production music industry. The Italian delegation has been invited to the networking breakfast reserved for publishers who are members of the PMA and IPMG, before continuing with a visit to the Disney Studios in Burbank, followed by a working session focused on exploring opportunities for music across the Disney universe.

In the evening, delegates will attend the iconic Mark Awards, the international honours celebrating excellence in production music for film, television, advertising, trailers and digital media.

October 7th | From recorded music to gaming: a connected ecosystem of opportunities. And La Niña showcase

The final day brings the Italian group directly onto the stage of the Production Music Conference, marking the first time ever for a foreign delegation, with the panel “Inside Italy’s Music & Sync Market: Licensing, Trends & International Opportunities”, exploring licensing, market trends and international opportunities for Italian repertoire.

The delegation will then visit two major players in the global gaming industry: Electronic Arts and Riot Games, where dedicated working sessions with their respective music supervisors are scheduled. This further broadens the scope of the mission, bringing Italian repertoire into direct dialogue with a sector in which music, entertainment and new forms of digital consumption are increasingly interconnected.

The mission will conclude at the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles with “Sync-IT: What’s Next?”, a final networking event bringing together U.S. professionals from the international sync community, followed by the sold-out showcase by La Niña, the eclectic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist at the heart of Hit Week 2026.

Among the professionals taking part in the day will be representatives of companies and organisations including Warner Bros, Kobalt Music Group, Ignition Creative and Emperia Sound, reflecting the breadth and quality of the professional ecosystem with which the Italian delegation will have the opportunity to engage.

Hit Week will then move to Miami from October 9 to 10, with a further live performance by La Niña, alongside university lectures and the professional meetings that have, for the past twenty years, made the event a platform connecting Italian and American music professionals.

From matchmaking to community: the Sync Mission takes shape

Created with the aim of laying the foundations for Italian repertoire to establish itself within new international licensing and synchronization networks, the Sync Mission is already delivering opportunities even before the delegation’s departure for Los Angeles. Matchmaking activities are already under way, with Italian delegates having been introduced to an Apple music supervisor in connection with a specific sync opportunity, anticipating the work that will be developed throughout the three-day mission.

This, after all, is the dimension that Hit Week intends to give its first Sync Mission: not simply to bring Italian music to the United States, but to build professional relationships capable of translating into concrete market opportunities.

The mission and its community will also be identified through a dedicated visual identity, developed around a logo and a range of materials – including T-shirts, tote bags and identification badges – that will accompany delegates and music supervisors throughout the Los Angeles programme, strengthening the sense of belonging to a shared professional initiative.

The Sync Mission is thus part of Hit Week’s broader commitment to the internationalization of Italian music, at a time when synchronization is becoming an increasingly significant opportunity for bringing Italian repertoire beyond the domestic market. In 2025, royalties generated by Italian music abroad exceeded €32 million, up 13.9% compared with 2024 and 180% over the past six years.
